What is the difference between the different types of coffee?

Jul 17, 12:15PM EDT0

Coffee comes in many different varieties based on origin around the globe.

As for type, the two main types are Robusta and Arabica.

Robusta has a MUCH higher caffeine content and a less pleasant taste. Most stores and coffee shops do not sell a 100% Robusta bean - sometimes you’ll find them in an espresso blend.

Arabica is the more commonly consumed bean. This is the tasty one. They grow in several different countries in a specific latitude range. Each country and origin yields a different flavor… hence the near endless answer to your question if you’re referring to all of the different flavor profiles of coffee.

Coffee is like wine, and even 100ft in altitude can affect the flavor of a roast.

Yes, Exotic Coffee offers a variety of coffee from the fertile high mountain and lake regionsof Africa. The rich volcanic soils and high mountain climates make the best growing conditionsfor premium coffee.

What is the best type of coffee?

Jul 17, 11:43AM EDT0

You should try to get fresh, whole-bean coffee.  Some grocery stores stock coffee from local roasters (Whole Foods is an example), and these coffees are generally fresher than their national counterparts.  Your whole-bean coffee will taste the best when it is consumed between 2 days to a week or so after it is roasted.  Ground coffee goes stale much sooner and is not really worth buying, in my opinion, unless you're in a grinderless fix.

I think the best coffee is not defined by price and brand. The best coffee is what taste the best for you. I like to buy 2-3 packets and drink different every morning, so after I know exactly what I prefer.

What sort of coffee do you love most af all?

cappuccino, heavy cream in the morning.  I'm down to about two cups each working day, which isn't a health advisory, it's expensive!  Earl/Lady Grey, then, with a splash of milk into the afternoons with maybe another decadent cup of coffee after dinner.
